Tom Hall, id Software veteran and creator of the Commander Keen video game series, has posted aKickstarter for Worlds of Wander.
Worlds of Wander is a platform game creation tool that allows players to create their own game, and then share it with the larger community.
In his Kickstarter video, Hall calls it a “platform gaming toy box that really empowers people to make their own game,” adding that “it’s time to really enable people with simple, simple tools.”
The creation tool will run on iOS and Android tablets, Ubuntu Linux, Mac, and Windows. Secret Spaceship Club, a complete game and spiritual successor to Commander Keen, is also included.
At the time of this writing, the project has 191 backers, $8,174 pledged of a $400,000 goal, and 25 days to go.
